Will it ever end?

Wow, can't believe it's been a month since my last post. The weather has taken a turn for the worst but big things have been happening here at the shop. If you haven't made it into the store lately you'll notice some changes. We've finally built our professional fit studio and we're ready to make you the most comfortable you've ever been on your bike.

Pearl Izumi's Spring Clothing has arrived. I must say that this is the best looking Pearl stuff I think I've ever seen.

You'll find Omaha's biggest selection of 26" and 29" mountain bike tires now available here, stocked up and ready for the spring thaw. If we don't have it I'd be surprised, but special orders are never a problem.

We're fully stocked with tons of kids bikes. Haro BMX, Mirraco dirt and park bikes, Gary Fisher and Trek youth bikes including Trek's new Float series. Float is a new concept bike from Trek with removable cranks that allows the child to learn to balance. Once they have the balance thing down, put the cranks back on and let'm roll!

And don't forget on top level tech center. Josh, Dan and myself are ready to get your bike prepped for the season. Estimates are always free and we gaurantee a 72 hour turn-around time.

And the Winner Is...

Well, the January winter ride challenge has come to an end. It got pretty tight there in the last week and a half. Seeing how Skinny D and I don't count since we work here at the shop, iceman Ray Anderson takes the 1st place prize of some Pearl Izumi amfib gloves! Probably could have used those this month uh? John Varga pulled out second place after his massive throw down week of 593 points. John takes home a pair of Pearl Izumi amfib booties. Skinny D is out so that moves Shim into 3rd, enjoy you're new Nike winter cycling cap.

So tomorrow night are the awards, maybe I'll throw in some extra door prizes for those that show. 7:00pm, here at the shop, front doors will be locked so walk around back, the door says "Trek Store". Bring your six pack beverage of choice, I'll have some snacks and we'll watch dvd's of guys riding big bikes off cliffs.

Thank You!

Last friday we had our first annual Customer Appreciation night in conjunction with our sister store Highgear. The night was tons of fun and everyone that attended got some great deals on Pearl Izumi, GU, Serfas eyewear, Project One, Yeti and Serrota. Thanks to everyone for your continued support, as we continue "...to support a community in motion."

One highlight of the evening was Shimano Rep Dan showcasing Shimano's new vacuum formed road and mountain bike shoes. If you have foot problems or have trouble finding a cycling shoe that fits just right, these are the shoes for you. I know I'm saving my pennies for a pair. The shoes are heated in an oven to 200 degrees which allows the specially made upper and insole to vacuum form to your heel, footbed and outter side of the upper. The shoes also have the ability to be remolded should your foot ever change. Very cool, or hot, depending how you look at it!
