Oh boy, it's my first post on the new blog! So here's the scoop: each and every Saturday morning for the last 10 weeks I've led a Ladies Only ride that leaves from the Trek Store; we ride anywhere and any amount of mileage from 10 to 25 miles and end up at a coffee shop, usually Caribou on 72nd & Pacific. It's totally fun, laid-back, and a great way to meet new gals to ride with. Women of all different riding abilities with all types of bikes show up and we just have fun riding either the Keystone, the Wabash, or any other trail we want to explore.
One crazy week we pledged to ride all year round, come rain, snow, sleet, or shine (just like the mailman). So, last week we were supposed to meet here and then carpool down to ride the Wabash in the freezing snowy conditions...that didn't exactly happen. It turns out we may not be quite as tough as we had originally thought!! Like the dedicated riders we tried to be, we met here, but then instead of riding we watched the snow fall, took a picture of the 3 of us in our bike gear in the snow, and then decided to drive over to our favorite coffee shop for some chat time. It was definitely a fun time with some great company!
This Saturday we'll probably have a repeat of last week. We're planning to meet here at the Trek Store on 72nd & Jones at 9:45 a.m. and then, depending on what we feel like, ride the Keystone or just drive over to the coffee shop to chat. Sorry Timo, no boys allowed!! Actually, I don't really mind, the more the merrier but technically is a girls only ride. Ride at your own discretion!! :)
